I'm writing this post in bullet format - I don't have time for the verbal incontinence today.
- I signed up for this challenge, called Maximize Your Mornings. It's all about developing disciplines that set you up right for the day, starting with reading your Bible and prayer. It's only been a few days, but I can feel a difference. I'm finding that checking in with other women all over the globe who are united to each other in purpose each morning is really helpful, and I'm loving it. I think the challenge goes 8 weeks - at which point this will be such a habit that I won't be able to break it!
- I have a sore throat, and feel as though I'm coming down with whatever the girls have. Please let it be a minor cold??
- I am currently 16 weeks pregnant, which is insane. Still find it hard to believe sometimes that we are actually doing all this again.
- I got a smartphone. And I'm making it really work for me. Using the calendar feature, the notes, the to-do lists, the alarms, and I've downloaded a few apps that have been fantastic. In particular, a daily scripture verse, and a daily Bible study thingy. The one thing this phone doesn't have, that my old phone did, is a decent timer feature. I was able to do interval timers, which work really well for a concentrated burst of housecleaning. There are several timer applications to download, but none of them really seem to be what I want. So for now, I'm keeping the old phone, which can use the timer function independently of the chip thingy.
- Is a platter with crackers, cheese, and grapes too posh for playgroup morning tea?
- I'd better wrap this up, I've got a Thai Red Chicken Curry to make, and kids to wrangle, and at some point, I need to bake some biscuits. Which also means a trip to the store. For stuff like vanilla, butter, and brown sugar. So I can put on another kilo from eating cookie dough. :-)
XO, Sarah
3 kind words:
a platter of crackers, cheese and grapes is an excellent playgroup snack! (at least it would have been in brooklyn...the jamaican crowd is much tougher...)
is your red curry really spicy? I had this red curry when we went to Disney and I have literally been daydreaming about it for months. I need to find a good recipe!
When do you go to the OB? Baby Heather needs to be gendered! :)
- Corey - it's mainly for the adults, the parents generally pack morning tea for their children. I've just got a hankering for some brie or camembert, or some crumbly english cheddar. And it tastes awesome with the grapes!
- Heather - It's debatable, the spicy factor. My recipe uses 1/4 cup of thai red curry paste to one entire can of coconut milk. The milk tends to soften the heat I think, so I always use extra curry paste. But I likes it spicy! And I don't go to the OB for another month, but I'll go in a couple of weeks for the big morphology scan, at which point we'll hopefully find out!
