We have CHEESE!!!

We've had Charlie on this elimination diet, to try and find out what her food sensitivities are. It's worked really well, but it hasn't given her a whole lot of variety. I was starting to get concerned about the lack of fat, calcium, and other things. So we went to see the paediatrician, who is just about the best doctor ever, as far as I'm concerned. He gave us a starting point for introducing challenges, and laid out some basic guidelines for challenging with particular foods, and wrote a referral to a dietitian. He listened to me, and it was a mother-doctor dialogue, in which we both spoke and listened. He didn't dismiss me or my concerns with a superior "I'm a genius doctor, and you know nothing" attitude, which was a relief. So anyway, I decided to start challenging her with dairy, because the whole not having a lot of calcium thing was bothering me. We came home, and I gave her a small piece of cheese, and guess what? NO RASHY FACE!!! So for 4 days, I'm to feed her increasing amounts of cheese (along with everything else) up to an average serving, to see if she tolerates it. I finally feel like we're headed to a place where we might eventually be able to control this thing.

On the pregnancy front, no end in sight. I feel a bit like something may happen soon, but it's probably just wishful thinking. I'm really uncomfortable and restless, and today I actually feel a bit nauseated. And I'm supremely irritated by ants. They're everywhere - it almost feels personal! I'm on an ant-i (get it?) crusade! If I see them congregating, I clean the area with boiling water. Rather medieval, but that's the frame of mind I'm in.

It sounds like Charlie Brown has dropped off to sleep, so I'll do the same now.

XOXO,
Sarah
